For my lesson this week I decided to use nearpod. I liked the way the program allowed you to create a presentation and had all resources that you may consider using in a very easy to use and accessible tab. The possibility for creating a lesson was endless with all of the different tools available. This tool would be very beneficial as a whole group or small group activity. The small group option allows students to go self paced and review information while whole group allows the teacher to lead the instruction but the students can follow along and interact on their devices, which will keep them engaged and interested. Students can learn a lot of information with a few slides, videos, and games all in a fun and creating program. I did not have any major issues creating a lesson my issues came trying to decide what the lesson should be on and what interactive tools to use without trying to cram them all in the presentation 🙂
Hi there,
I enjoyed reading your post about Nearpod. I have used Nearpod and it is a wonderful application to enhance a lesson by integrating technology into the classroom. I went to a Nearpod professional development at Mobile County central office and it was quite informative. I gained a lot of knowledge and decided to continue with the tool by bringing it to my classroom. I teach kindergarten so I was skeptical about weather or not my kiddos would be able to use it. They totally could! I had to explicitly model and show them how to step by step use it but they got the hang of it after they used it a few times. I decided to introduce Nearpod in a whole-group setting but I continued with it in small groups. My students were able to concentrate better in a smaller setting. They love using it in small group. They really like being able to see their classmates work as it appears. I like how the teacher has the control of each student’s screen as well.
Great Post!
